Demonetisation to e-Monetisation : The Road Ahead and Contribution of IT, Media & Management
The Chief Guest of the Conference was Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Delhi Technological University. Dr. Nitin Malik was the Guest of Honour of the Conference. The Conference was inaugurated with the ‘Lighting of the Lamp’ and ‘Welcome Address’ given by Dr. R. K. Tandon, Chairman, TIPS, Dwarka in the graceful presence of Mrs. Reema Tandon, Vice Chairperson, TIPS, Dwarka, Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Rao Vadi, Director, TIPS, and other eminent dignitaries. The objective of the Conference was to provide a common platform for exchanging views and knowledge amongst an array of nationally renowned academicians, professionals, industry experts and other practitioners on the aspect of announcement and implementation of Demonetisation in India, its success and the future course of action to be initiated by Government and private stakeholders.
The conference was divided into four sessions; Inaugural Session, Technical Session – I and Technical Session – II, and Valedictory Session. In the inaugural session, Dr. R. K. Tandon, Chairman, TIPS shared his views on the Demonetisation initiative announced by our Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi on November 8, 2016. He also spoke about the impact of Demonetisation and the contribution of IT, Media and Management for its effective implementation and the road map towards the e-Monetisation. After the welcome address of the Chairman, Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Rao Vadi, Director TIPS read the message of C. Arvind, Registrar, GGSIPU which laid down the ground for the conference saying that the outcome of conference will bring out the roadmap for the implementation of cashless economy campaign. Prof. Yogesh Singh highlighted that the issue of Demonetisation is not new to India but had been a successful initiative against the people who indulge in black money accumulation, corruption and terrorist funding. He also emphasized on national character building and growth of economy with Indian ethos and values. This was followed by Technical Session – I. There were 7 Paper presentations in Technical Session – I. Paper presentations were followed by deliberations and concluding remarks by the esteemed Chairperson of the session. Concluding remarks were offered by the Chairperson, Dr. Subodh Kesarwani, Associate Professor, IGNOU. He shared his views on recent Demonetisation program and its impact. He highlighted about the digital literacy and benefits of digitally empowered cashless society.
In Technical Session – II, there were 6 paper presentations. This was followed by the deliberations by the Chairpersons of Session II. The concluding remarks was offered by Prof. U S Pandey, University of Delhi, who emphasized on the role of Information Technology in e-monetisation. At the end Valedictory Session was conducted and the guest of honour Dr. Nitin Malik emphasizes the participation of youths in nation building and cash less economy campaign. The certificates to the paper presenter and to the participants are given by the guest of honour in the valedictory session.
The Conference was concluded by “Vote of thanks” given by Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Rao Vadi, Director TIPS. The seventh National Conference was convened by Dr. Shaily Saxena, Dr. Vandana Malviya and Mr. P.K.Nayak. It got a remarkable response as it received 78 research papers from academicians, researchers, representatives of industries and students across Delhi, NCR and other states of India. The conference was attended by nearly 200 academicians, researchers and students.
